Sailun Selected for UNGC Collection of Business Practices on Sustainable Supply Chain Management in the Transport Industry

2026/10/01

Sailun has been selected for inclusion in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) collection of business practices on sustainable supply chain management in the transport industry. The selected case, Lifecycle-based Low-carbon Development Driving Global Collaboration across the Tyre Value Chain, showcases Sailun' s approach to advancing sustainability across the tyre lifecycle.

The UNGC is the world' s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It supports companies in aligning their strategies and operations with the Ten Principles covering human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption, while contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This collection brings together practical examples from companies across the transport industry, enabling businesses to learn from peer experience and accelerate progress in sustainable supply chain management.

Sailun' s case sets out a lifecycle-based approach to low-carbon development. It highlights key actions, including integrating Scope 3 emissions into the company' s sustainability strategy, advancing carbon footprint accounting for tyre products, and strengthening ESG due diligence across its supply chain. Sailun has also increased its use of bio-based and recycled materials, while optimising its global manufacturing and logistics networks to improve transport efficiency and strengthen supply chain resilience. Its science-based emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The inclusion recognised Sailun' s efforts to embed sustainability across the tyre value chain and to collaborate with upstream and downstream partners on carbon management and material innovation. It also provides a practical reference for companies in the transport sector seeking to reduce supply chain emissions, strengthen resilience and respond to increasingly stringent ESG and sustainable procurement requirements.
